I don't understand why NYC generally has such lousy coffee, but my breakfast coffee at the Hotel Giraffe is quite good.

Hello St Louis, your gateway arch is beautiful. Looked wide enough for a little airplane, but that's frowned upon.

Ya know, I'm pretty proud of myself for this flight today. 5.5 hours, lots of planning while airborne. Feeling like a real pilot.

Our hotel in St Louis features a bronze interpretation of Lewis and Clark. With bunnies.

We need to find a third way across the US. Weather sucks by Cheyenne, so going south through New Mexico. With giant headwinds, again.

Liking St Louis so far, definitely not a bad place to be stuck a few days. The architecture here is amazing.

I feel strangely nervous about actually walking through the arch.

There's a guy on the river giving crazy fun looking helicopter rides, $35 for 10 minutes: steep takeoff and nervous close landing no extra.

The hotel bar in St Louis has gay vodka. No, really, Pryde Vodka from Arizona complete with pink triangle. No doubt it makes the best Cosmo.

Mediocre timewarp dinner at Tony's, STLs fancy resto. Pretty sure @goldman's grandpa got lucky with his grandma after dinner there.

Great brunch at Scape in the Central West End. I really like St Louis, the town has a great feel.

City Museum of STL is awesome. Like Salvation Mountain, but a kids playground instead of a vision from Jesus. Thanks to all who recommended.

The St Louis Cathedral is almost enough to turn me Catholic. Astonishingly detailed and sumptuous mosaics, world class craftsmanship.

Lunch at Del's in Tucumcari on Route 66. Christmas enchiladas came with New Mexico green chile and Texas style red Mexican gravy. Good stuff
