Preparing for a 3 day drive from SF to Portland for Reed Reunion. Arcata, Coos Bay; any suggestions on things on the way?

Took 128 afterall, drove the Audi like it wants it. Lunch at Mendocino Hotel. Beautiful on the coast.

Arrived Arcata. Town is seedier than I remember, hotel is dumpy. But passing through places is enjoyable in itself.

Dinner at Abruzzi, the grownup restaurant in Arcata. Was here five years ago, is what brought me back.

Dinner at the Sylvia Beach Hotel in Newport, OR was very good. Finally got some Oregon berry pie, also duck and mushrooms.
