I liked the fantasy novel very much! An interesting world with complicated societies, politics, fantastical enemies. And a fun narrator as the underdog newbie making his way in the world discovering his talents. All good fun.

I did not like the murder mystery novel! I mean it was OK, sort of. But then Sherlock Ana would stride into the scene and declaim the solution to some part of the mystery. Using information that only she knew and was revealing to us, the reader, for the first time. It was just annoying.

It's a well written book, the prose is fun, the characters are good. I just wish it didn't have the Agatha Christie thing going on.
