Excellent cookbook for basic Americana. The ATK approach of thorough recipe testing is nicely applied to basic standard American dishes. Want to make cornbread or spaghetti and meatballs or a pie with a minimum of trouble and a reliable recipe? This book will do it. I particularly like the asides, paragraphs outside the recipe itself that provides a bit of context for the dishes and their methods of cooking.
