Meh, this was fine. But the series has outlived its welcome. This book is strangely shallow. It's basically just one big action adventure series, like a dumb summer popcorn movie. Murderbot's unusual narrative voice is intact but annoyingly so, particularly the writing style with lots of parentheticals and emotion checks. There's no character development or novel social situation.
The plot itself is entertaining enough, although a bit samey. There's some fun world-building in the crappy space station everything happens on. But all in all I'm not sure I needed to read this book. I didn't mind it though.
Goodreads readers give it 4.22★, from 36,776 ratings. I gave it 2★, −2.2, where I'm usually −0.9: I liked it less than most.
Readers call it Science Fiction, Novella, Space, Humor, Space Opera, Adventure.
