Paladin's Strength

Big step down from the first book. Just didn't have the same freshness or sympathetic characters. I was totally uninterested in Ishtvan and mostly uninterested in Clara. The fun part is the romance between them. It's dragged out a bit but when they do start to hook up it's pretty hot. I also think it's a well constructed fantasy story by the standards of romance novels. But it's pretty simplistic and on-the-nose, albeit entertainingly told.

I'm probably off this train and won't read the last two books but I see the third book has characters I might be more interested in. Maybe when I need some light entertainment.
