I enjoyed this and am glad it is an end to the series. The Murderbot books are fun. At its best the author locks in this bizarre prose style where Murderbot is emotionally disengaged from a situation and yet deeply in it and the writing gets really compelling. That's where it's best. As a regular scifi action story it kind of doesn't work for me. But as a musing on humanity and bot AI, maybe with metaphorical reach to queerness or transgender or simply being neuroatypical, that's good stuff.
Update I reread the first four novellas back-to-back and liked them quite a bit on a second read. They're really well executed books, deftly written. I still find some of the action writing a bit stilted but each book gets better. But what's great is the emotional writing for Murderbot, its journey to being a person and finding a way to co-exist with humans. The four books together really tell a nice narrative arc.
