Eh, it was OK. I liked Lift more when her character and writing style were a short story novelty in a very large novel. Dedicating 200+ pages to him trying to write like an 11 year old girl thinks was a bit much. Also the story is quite small and constrained compared to the larger sprawling epic it's embedded in. Not bad, but not great either.
Goodreads readers give it 4.10★, from 186,198 ratings. I gave it 2★, −2.1, where I'm usually −0.9: I liked it less than most.
