Drum Beats: Walt Whitman's Civil War Boy Lovers

Did not care for this book. I skimmed it along with Calamus Lovers: Walt Whitman's Working Class Camerados and my complaints about the author's fictional narrative applies here too. Only in this case the boys and men Whitman knew are not as interesting or significant in his life. I think it's an important piece of history, uncovering all these details of Whitman's relationships, but it's just not very interesting to read.
